In this gripping scenario, the election of a fiercely pro-independence Taiwanese president ignites a firestorm. Calls for an official declaration of sovereignty reverberate across the island, fanning the flames of tension with the People’s Republic of China. Beijing, branding Taiwan a "breakaway province," vows swift and decisive military action to quell the uprising.
The stakes couldn’t be higher. As China rattles its sabers, the United States and its allies find themselves at a crossroads, wary of plunging into yet another war but determined to uphold stability in the region. In this two-day event, participants will have the opportunity to engage in realistic simulations tackling a complex (but fictitious) scenario involving negotiation, strategy, intelligence, and more. This war game features high-stakes negotiations and pulse-pounding decisions across six country teams: the United States, the People’s Republic of China, Japan, Taiwan, Russia, and a united Commonwealth (UK, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand). The goal: to defuse the situation and prevent the outbreak of war. 💥
